I will do all I can to help you. Thanks.
Hi!! I am Amber, but am known as Am or Ams to my family and friends. So, hence the name amsdigiscraps. I am a mom to three fabulous children and wife to my awesome, very supportive husband. (Thank goodness). I have fallen into the world of digital scrapbooking so quickly, it is hard to believe that up until the end of 2004, I was still printing my digital pictures and paper scrapping. After the birth of my third child, I began to check out digital scrapbooking sites and exploring with my software. I was thrilled to discover what I could create digitally. Although, I have to admit it took me a very long time to do much of anything! My favorite part of scrapbooking is the subject of my photos and the memories and sentiment they evoke. My second favorite part is creating the elements around the photos. Even with all the great digi stuff offered, I found myself creating my own. It is so fun to discover the new and fabulous techniques that my photo software can do. I love it.
I started my own site in October of 2005 and gave away some gifts there. Then I opened my store in March of 2006. I started participating at digiscrapdivas that same month. In May I started selling at the digichick and then in September I started selling at thedigishoppe. I confused myself sometimes trying to keep it all straight! :) Finally, I sell at one store, and I am thrilled to be there. I am in the process of making the transition to scrapartist.com
I love to design using brushes and textures. I am definitely a more shabby, distressed, and grunged up kind of designer. I have been know to take pictures of very odd thing (ie. mold) to turn into brushes to use to design. I also really love the blending modes in Photoshop. I am self taught (or more properly stated, "Google taught") in Photoshop CS. I love designing and I just can't stop. I love the challenge of getting things to look like I want them to on the computer screen. I find my inspiration in things all around me--colors, food, clothes, furniture, etc.
At the end of the day I do this because I love it. We all love to design, kits, elements, templates, scrapbook pages, etc., because we all love to preserve our memories and document our lives and the lives of those around us. It connects us to those who have gone before, those who are here with us now, and those who will be here in the future. I love that this trait connects all of us scrappers around the world, who are so different, yet connected by that strong desire to preserve our cherished memories.
I am excited to share and see what others create with my digital creations.
Have fun.
I currently sell my designs at scrapartist.com.
